  Dr. Vandergriff told me, after I said that I had started the Miami Diet, that I would only live another 5 years. She screamed this at me and I left her practice. In the 10+ years since, I have lost 50 #lbs and am very healthy, in great part due to the encouragement of the staff at Western Wake Health Associates. Terrible "bedside manner" in an easily angered person who doesn't know how to deal with the whole person.

  After going to Dr. V for 16 years, I feel she doesn't have the time for me any longer. When I asked why I needed to set up an appointment for each issue I was having, she said that "people sometimes come in w/ a long list" and it goes over the appointment time. I asked her why she couldn't make longer appointment times if she knew what people were coming in for. She informed me that over half of her practice was new patients and half of her time was scheduled for them. If you don't have time to schedule current patients, why take on new ones? Greed? Also, I asked if they could send me a reminder card or call when it was time for my med re-check. She said that they didn't have time to do that and they couldn't be my "nurse maid". The next time I came in she gave me a smiley face sticker for remembering my appointment. I am 55 years old and a little forgetful but I thought if I did have dementia is this how she is going to treat me as I age? I am looking for a new doctor. The other reviews are so correct about Maureen. If she gets mad at you she withholds your meds by a day or two.
