I WAS one of their younger patients (Im in my mid 20s) and had horrible experiences with them. Once, I was in the ER with a severe kidney infection and they never called the ER doctor back. I was released and told to go to my dr for bloodwork in 2 weeks. I told them exactly what the ER dr wanted me tested for during the appointment call and when I went in they were about to test me for the flu. Why?? I guess after seeing my chart had said 4 months before I had had a flu like virus. I had to tell the lab tech (who does not work in the practice but in their building) myself and hand her the hospital discharge papers so she could get the right bloodwork done. She made a comment that they always mess things up and shook her head. What caused me to finally draw the line and leave was when they had called a prescription in to the wrong store and when I called to ask if they would send it to the right store (after almost a week after I had requested it and TWO trips to my pharmacy who had sent a request as well) the woman on the phone caught an attitude with me (I never once was rude to her) I simply asked her to correct the mix up for me. She told me to call whoever they had called it to to get them to transfer it and I again asked them to do it for me and she snapped "OK MA'AM, I see who called in to the wrong Pharmacy. Shes only human and we all make mistakes, Since I know you are just going to argue with me I will call it into the right place" I just hung up the phone. My co-workers heard the entire thing and were disgusted. I will NEVER go back.

As many of us have experienced, the days of customer service are gone from many businesses, including this practice. I started going to one of these doctors several years ago, before they were part of the Cary Medical Group. When the doctor was at the old location, the service was fantastic in every way, from setting up appointments, being able to talk to a competent nurse, on-time appointments, etc. Since the doctor joined Cary Medical Group, I have had one problem after another. The new nurse is always confused, which is a frightening thing when you are relying on her to provide the proper information to the doctor, or get the proper information from the doctor. If you want to set up a same day appointment, you may be lucky enough to get someone on the phone you can actually talk to. However, if you want a future appointment, like tomorrow, forget it! And, if you try set up an appointment through the same day appointment person, they become impatient and transfer you to the "future appointments" customer service line. Once you are transfered, or if you try to connect directly, you can never get anyone on the phone - it goes to an answering machine where you are forced to leave a message and told they will get back to you within 48 hours. Not very helpful if you really need to see a doctor tomorrow. Sometimes you never hear back from them after leaving a message and have to call again. Sometimes you get lucky and get a call back by the end of the day. Then, if you have a question before scheduling the appointment, you will once again be told it will take 24-48 hours to get back to you. So, best to call the same-day appointment desk and ask for a same day appointment. Then, when they give you times, tell them you cannot make it at that time and try to get something for another day. The days of customer service at this practice are long gone. The doctors are competent and I have only good things to say about the ones we have seen. But the appointment staff and some of the nurses definitely leave a lot to be desired.
